Enrolment  

Enrolment is on an annual basis unless specified in writing.  

All enrolments are charged per full school term. Terms vary in length and are stipulated by the school at the commencement of the year and are subject to change.  

 

Enrolments taken after week five will be charged at 50% pro rata term fee.   

 

Stage Kids operates within advertised school terms and is closed for holidays and all public holidays.   

 

Enrolments are taken year round, however students enrolling in Term 3 and 4 may require private lessons arranged with the studio to catch up on missed choreography should they wish to participate in all routines in a Showcase. Term 4 enrolments will not participate in Showcase unless agreed upon by the School.    

 

Stage Stars Preschool classes can be joined at any time throughout the year. Term 4 enrolments should discuss Showcase participation with their teacher. Involvement will be at the discretion of students’ family and teacher as to whether the child is confident and comfortable. 

 

All Students enrolling into the School agree to participate in the end of year concert in Term 4 unless notified in writing by the commencement of Term Two. 

 

All enrolling students agree to participate in a dress rehearsal prior to the concert. This may fall on a weekend pending studio availability.  

 

All classes in Term 4 (except Stage Stars Preschool Classes) may work solely on the choreography for the school production.  

 

Stage Kids Classes are designed and delivered on the assumption that the Student is fit to participate in the Dance Classes. By accepting this Agreement, the Student/Costumer agrees the Student is fit to participate in the Dance Classes. 

 

Photography and Marketing Consent 

Photos and videos are taken in class and at dress rehearsals and social events. Upon enrolment, you hereby provide consent to Stage Kids to use photography and video taken in promotional material in both print, web copy and on social media. Families must notofy in writing should they wish to opt out of promotional material.  

 

Under no circumstances can photograpy or video taken by parents or students be posted online. 

 

Withdrawal by Student  

Should you wish to discontinue lessons, Stage Kids requires 30 days’ notice in writing, prior to the cancellation date.  Direct debits will not be cancelled during the school holiday periods.

Change of location 

At times, locations of classes may need to change due to extenuating circumstances, maintenance of premises or ad hoc events by the schools or community. Where sufficient notice allows, Stage Kids will notify parents of an alternative location as early as practicable. If no alternative location can be provided, classes will be made up at a later date at the discretion of the studio.  

 

Indemnity 

The Client shall indemnify the School, its employees and agents against any liability, loss or damage (including but not limited to for any personal injury, property damage/loss or wrongful death), costs (including the costs of any settlement and legal costs and expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) and expenses arising out of or in connection with a wilful default or unlawful or negligent act or omission by the Student. 

 

Payment 

When enrolling in Stage Kids, you authorise us to debit your nominated account/credit card for all applicable fees. You agree that Stage Kids may amend your direct debit agreement and payment amounts to reflect any changes in your enrollment, including but not limited to adding or removing classes, changing class types, or adjusting timing of debit for pro-rata or outstanding fees. 

An annual enrolment fee of $45 will be debited from your nominated account/credit card at the time of enrolment. This fee is separate from regular class fee debits and is payable at the commencement of each year covering insurance and music licensing for your dancer.

By proceeding with enrollment, you acknowledge and agree to these payment terms and authorise Stage Kids to process payments as described above.

Part Payments 

Upon written request, Stage Kids can offer payment plans to families who would prefer to pay in twice per term instalments. Should payments fail, families are required to pay for the term in full before continuing.  

 

Concert Participation Cost: 

A fee for the school production, covering costume hire/purchase and video production is incorporated into the term 3 fees. Any remaining balance for additional costume expenses will either be appended to the term 4 invoice or invoiced separately during term 4. It is assumed all students will participate unless notified in writing by the commencement of Term Two (or upon enrolment if registering beyond this date). If we are not notified by this specified date, you shall be liable for all costs associated with costumes that have already been ordered.  

 

In cases where a student is more than 30 days overdue in settling an invoice, an Administration Fee of $30 will be assessed.  

 

Debt Recovery 

The Student (Client) shall pay all costs (including legal and agent's fees) incurred by Stage Kids in connection with any recovery or attempted recovery of any overdue accounts from the Client.Stage Kids reserves its rights to commence debt recovery through a Debt Collection Agency where a Student is more than 30 days late in paying an Invoice. 

  

Missed Lessons 

No refunds, make-up classes, discounts or credits are given for missed classes. 

Private lessons are encouraged by the School to support the students training progress if they have missed some training. 

 

Cancelled Class by the School 

Where Stage Kids cancels a class for any reason the School in its sole discretion will decide whether it is appropriate to offer a make-up class or credit this class towards the next term fees. 

 

Weather Cancellations: 

Notifications of weather cancellations will be emailed and texted. There are no refunds for missed classes or classes cancelled due to inclement weather or cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the School. The School closures due to severe weather conditions will be announced as soon as practically possible. 

  

Withdrawal of enrolment  

Students may be withdrawn from Stage Kids at the sole discretion of the Directors. Withdrawal may occur because of unpaid invoices, breach of code of conduct, student behaviour or arising of circumstances which compromises ability of staff to provide services.  

 

Uniform 

All Stage Kids dancers are expected to come to class prepared and wearing their correct uniform and shoes. Uniforms are expected from Week Three of enrolment.  

Jazz: Tan Bloch Elastaboot Shoe 

Lyrical: Bare foot/ tan jazz shoe as above. 

Ballet: Pink Leather Ballet Shoe (Bloch Only)  

Tap: Bloch Black Annie Style Tap Shoes required. 

  

Code of Conduct 

Stage Kids has a zero tolerance policy for any type of abuse (physical or verbal), intimidation or anti-social behaviour either in person or online, including by that of a Parent or Guardian.  

Any form of discrimination in all its forms as defined under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW); or harassment or threats of any nature towards Student, Parents and Guardians, or any employees or sub-contractors or third parties attending the School will result in immediate dismissal. The afore-mentioned behaviours include off-site premises between students and any location attended to by Stage Kids (for example concert venues).  

  

Photography and Video Recordings 

Parents and students are not permitted to take photos of videos of Stage Kids class or events without the express permission of Directors.  

 

Communications 

Students and parents are encouraged to reach out to the School during the week, from Monday to Friday, through email or phone. Enquiries and voicemails will be answered as soon as practically possible.  

 

It is the responsibility of parents to stay informed by checking relevant information posted on our website and via email newsletters. Primary communication from the school will be through email.  

 

Parents and guardians are kindly requested not to discuss concerns directly with teachers before, during, or after class times so teachers can remain focused on timely class delivery. Appointments can be made should parents require a discussion following class. 

 

Stage Kids will communicate primarily via email. While such correspondence is not secure during transit and may be subject to copying, recording, reading, or interference by third parties, any request to transmit a document electronically implies the release of the School from any claims arising from unauthorized actions post-transmission. This includes any delay, non-delivery, or damage to systems or files during the transfer. 

 

Please notify Stage Kids with changes in address, or to update contact information. This remains the responsibility of the parent or student. The School cannot be held liable for any lapses in communication if student/parent contact details are found to be incorrect or outdated. 

 

Release 

Enrolment in any class or private session constitutes agreement to a waiver of liability for injuries or illness contracted while a student is at the Studio: 

In consideration of Students (CLIENTS) participation in and the use of the Schools facilities, he/she hereby releases and covenants not to sue the School, its owners, directors, offices, employees, representatives, agents, trustees and lessees from any and all present claims resulting from ordinary negligence and inherent risk of use of facilities and equipment of the School including but not limited to any loss, injury, damage or liability sustained by him/her while on or about the Schools premises. 

  

Consent 

Upon enrolling, you consent to employees, sub-contractors, contractors and directors of the School having physical contact with your child for the purpose of class related activities including but not limited to, correcting technique, lifts, holding hands in a circle, assisting with positioning and alignment, improving understanding of a movement.  

 

You consent to employees, sub-contractors, contractors and directors of the School to administer any necessary first aid to your child whilst the teacher/staff wait for the nominated guardian to take over. 

 

Your child’s enrolment into our classes is voluntary and participation in the class, creative movement and dance involve numerous risks of injury, including but not limited to muscle strains, sprains and falls and you are aware these are risks for your child participating in class. It is the responsibility of the guardian to notify the teacher of the class of any existing injury or medical conditions. 

  

Parental Supervision 

 

Students must be supervised prior to, and immediately following class times.  Stage Kids will not be held responsible for students who are outside of the premises waiting for class or pick up. Students will be held inside in the event that you are running late.  

 

Parents Viewing Policy 

Parents can observe their child upon invitation in Open Weeks. Parents are not permitted to enter the dance class without the teacher’s permission. This is distracting to students and often affects participation of children.  

 

Private Lessons 

  

Private lessons are available for students who wish to extend technique, catch up on missed classes or learn a performance solo. Private lessons can be purchased via package of classes and can be paid in cash directly to teacher. Please contact Stage Kids for packages. 

 

Scheduled private lessons are required to be cancelled with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Failure to attend or notify, will be considered a forfeit of the lesson, and will not be made up or refunded.  

 

Duty of Care:  Supervision 

Staff members are always present during class hours; if a student arrives before class time, they may quietly enter and commence warming up. Students who have not entered the hall will not be the responsibility of Stage Kids teachers.  

 

Duty of Care 

Staff and students must exercise care in their activities, especially when others rely on their advice. They are obligated to take reasonable precautions to prevent harm, including physical harm. This includes actively promoting safe practices and environments within school facilities. Compliance with instructions for safe practices and maintaining behaviours that ensure the safety of others is a duty. Staff will acquaint themselves with the School Policy on Student Care. 

 

Any accidents involving staff, students, or equipment must be promptly reported to Stage Kids, following the School's safe dancing practices. This includes adhering to the required uniform, including footwear, and accessing the first aid kit. 

 

Bushfire Zone  

In the event of extreme weather conditions, email will be our principal method of communication providing up-to date information. If the government declares the extreme weather conditions as a ‘catastrophic’ or ‘code red’ fire day all classes at the School will be cancelled. Temperature readings will be taken from the Bureau of Meteorology website. 

  

This is an Agreement between the Parent or Guardian of the participating child and the School. 

 

Applicable Law 

The laws of New South Wales apply to this Agreement and any Commonwealth Law that may have jurisdiction. 

 

Terms: ‘You’ and ‘Your’ implies the participating student family.  

‘We’, ‘our’ and ‘Us’ refers to the School.
